TLC The Learning Centre™ believes that critical to quality of care is group size and ratios. Our centre is organised into the following groups:
Upstairs our Kākano room is for 6 or 7 children between 3 months and 18 months.
Upstairs our Weka room is for 8 children between 18 and 30 months with a 1 to 4 ratio.
Downstairs is a mixed room with two groups:
Our Kea group has up to 10 children aged between 24 months and 3 years.
Our Tūī group can have up to 28 children between 3 and 5 years.
Each group has dedicated key caregivers, and the team is supported by other qualified teachers who cover breaks and planning time.

Financial Policy
Administration Fee & Bond
A $250 charge is required to place each child on our wait list. This is made up on a $150 administration fee, and a $100 bond. This bond is non-refundable if you decide not to place your child at TLC after a place has been offered to you. If you take up a place at TLC The Learning Centre™, then your bond is credited to your first invoice. Payment of the bond does not guarantee that a place will be made available. You can pay the bond to the following account: 06-0199-0174197-00 quoting your child's name as a reference.
TLC The Learning Centre™ does not 'hold' places, if you choose to defer your child's start date, you will have to pay full fees from the agreed date of enrolment for the maximum of 3 weeks, after that time, we can put your child on the wait list and will do our best to make a space available at the requested time. However, if a place is not available and you choose to withdraw your application the bond is forfeited as the place had been made available at the requested start date.
Payment & Fees & Charges
Payments, by automatic payment, must be fortnightly in advance.
Families with two or more children enrolled at TLC are eligible for a 10% sibling discount for the oldest child only.
Late payment (more than 7 days after the invoice date) will incur a 10% penalty.
Fees and charges are invoiced for statutory holidays, school holidays, and all days that your child is unable to attend due to illness.
Fees and charges are invoiced for one 'teacher only day' per year. TLC endeavours to vary the day of the week that the teacher only day is on each year, and to give at least two months notice.
If a child booked in for a 7 hour, or 9 hour day, and exceeds booked times/hours, families will be invoiced for the next appropriate fee level, either 9 hours, or 10 hours, on that day.
Late pickup fees - children who are picked up after 5:30pm will incur a late collection fee of $2 per minute. This late pickup fee is also applied for collection of children with infectious conditions of greater than half an hour after the emergency contacts have been informed.
We require 28 days written notice if you wish your child to leave TLC, or if you wish to drop or change days, or to change enrolled times.
20 HRS ECE - Optional Charges.
TLC The Learning Centre has 'optional charges' for children over three who receive the 20 HRS ECE subsidy. These charges are for: Additional staff beyond the regulated adult/child ratios. Providing a fully qualified teaching team, who undertake regular and ongoing professional learning.
The charges are detailed above. The agreement to pay this charge will last from when the child turns 3 until the child leaves, or the family opts out of 20 HRS ECE funding for any reason. It is not permitted to claim a WINZ subsidy for the same days as the 20 HRS ECE subsidy, however, if your child attends 4 or 5 days, you can claim a WINZ subsidy for days above and beyond the 20 HRS funded ones.
Financial Reporting
TLC The Learning Centre™ posts information about funding subsidies received from the government and how this is spent, which is posted on the notice boards at TLC.
